Red's Fearow - Pokemon: Origins (2013)

The wild Beak Pokemon, Fearow had eluded Red for a while, eventually coming across one of them after the latter had beaten the Elite Four and become the new Pokemon Champion.

The young trainer confronted them with the hopes that he could capture and record the information of all 149 Pokemon of the Kanto Region - unaware of the existence of two additional psychic Pokemon.

"File Four: Charizard"

Meeting an indigenous Fearow during his travels, they attacked the young Trainer, forcing him to retaliate with his Persian. After a long battle between the former and the Classy Cat Pokemon, Red snared the Fearow for himself, adding them to the Pokedex.

The attack froze Mewtwo solid, however ended when the former used recover to thaw themself from the ice. They were knocked out of the sky by a Shadow Ball, stunning Red, who was horrified to learn that not even a Legendary Pokemon could defeat the Ultimate Pokemon.

Red's Hitmonlee - Pokemon: Origins (2013)

A reward given to him by the Karate Master (Kiyo) after defeating the Saffron City Karate Dojo, Red took Hitmonlee and raised them as their own, making them even stronger through battling Kanto trainers in his efforts to complete the Pokedex and win every gym badge in the Region.

"File Three: Giovanni"

Having taken Hitmonlee off the heartbroken Kiyo as his prize, Red continued his journey, bonding with the Kicking Pokemon.

During his fight with Giovanni at the Viridian City Gym, Red played Hitmonlee against the Team Rocket boss' Rhyhorn, desperate to avenge Victreebell, Kabutops, Snorlax and Joltean - who had all been defeated by the Spikes Pokemon. Giovanni expressed his amusement at how Red had been saving a fighting Pokemon till late on in the battle to challenge his Ground Pokemon, starting to slowly become impassioned by the fight, as Hitmonlee dealt damage to Rhyhorn with a rolling kick.

Countering move for move - first with a high jump kick and a mega-kick - eventually both themself and Rhyhorn knocked the over unconscious, resulting in the round being a tie. This left the pair with one Pokemon left, ensuring that the next Pokemon defeated would decide the victor of the match.

"File Three: Giovanni"

After a long fight, both Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan were unable to battle, forcing Kiyo to concede defeat.

They were put up as a potential reward for the trainer, leaving their owner and friend heartbroken as he made his choice.
