A resident of King's Landing, Hobb took part in a riot at the gates of the Red Keep, screaming for justice after Queen Helena threw herself off a balcony in Magor's Holdfast, leaving Queen Rhaenyra in charge of the city. Impassioned by the words of a preacher known as The Shephard, he and the mob turned their attention to The Dragon Pit, chanting that they would kill all dragons and return King's Landing back to the people.Attacking the Dragons while they were restrained, Hobb managed to use an axe to split the skull of Shrykos.
It was not made clear if he managed to survive the battle with the other three dragons, or if he did manage to avoid death from teeth, claws and fire, he was crushed by the collapsing ceiling of the Pit - brought down by Dreamfyre as she tried to flee.
After the battle was over, history and Maesters would remember him as "Hobb the Hewer" for his actions in the Targaryen civil war, with many agreeing that it was unlikely that he managed to survive.
"The Dance of Dragons"
Viserys Targaryen held great content for him and the other members of the mob, who laid siege to the Dragon Pit and slaughtered his heritage, helping to bring about an almost complete downfall to House Targaryen and a dynasty that had ruled for over two hundred and fifty years.
