Page Monroe - The New Batman Adventures Season One (1998)

A famous name around Gotham City, Page Monroe was the model and spokeswoman for numerous Gotham based companies, with a portfolio that lasted for ten years. Over that time she was forced by her agent and bosses to diet, starve herself and undergo cosmetic surgery, in order to reach and preserve what they saw to be
perfection.

Upon hitting 30 years old, Page Monroe was deemed as being too old to use, with all of her previous employers publicly dropping her in order to attract the younger demographic. On the third of April, Donna Day fired her in favour of a youth orientated campaign. Later on the 7th of August, Barkley James removed her from the position of Gotham City Motors to find a new car model and promoter.

In one last attempt to get her work, Irv Kleinman got her a part in a sitcom on G.W.B, however the show was axed by the executive Fredrick Fournier on the 27th of October, with them deciding that it was not appealing to young people.

These conditions and job losses may have exacerbated her body dysmorphia, leading to her only being able to see herself as flawed and imperfect. She went into hiding, with rumours circulating that she had suffered from an accident during a cosmetic procedure.

Blaming the three of them for ruining her life, she created the persona of the Calendar Girl for herself, hiring three male models that she had used to work with to act as muscle to her crimes. She set up her base in the debilitated nightclub Faces, which she partly owned. Monroe designed and manufactured numerous holiday based themed gimmick weaponry and costumes to use in her scheme, eventually returning to the public eye several years later as her criminal alias. However she still kept her old modelling pictures, using them to fuel her hatred for the three officials.

"Mean Seasons"

Dropping her guard down for a moment in the back office of Faces, Page sat quietly without her mask, contemplating her past and the next move. However she was interrupted by one of her henchmen, who told her that they were ready to go when she was ready. She quickly hid her face before he could see,  reprimanding him for entering without knocking and throwing one her makeshift bombs into the air above his head. She angrily added that "no one {was} allowed to see {her} face."

Upon being defeated and bound by Batman, Page was left for the G.C.P.D to make an official arrest. After a police officer read Monroe her rights, Harvey Bullock angrily remarked that these did not permit her to wear her mask, removing it from her face.

Terrified that people were able to see her face, Page tried to hide it behind her hair, pleading with them not to look at her.

Witnessing this from afar, Batgirl was taken aback by how beautiful Page was, however Batman sadly replied that due to her dysmorhia, all she could see now was "her flaws".

Calendar Girl - The New Batman Adventures Season One (1998)

The moniker of former supermodel, spokeswoman and actress Page Monroe, Caldendar Girl was a villain who themed her costume and weapons around certain holidays, targeting those who had wronged her over the course of the year by dropping her after she reached 30 years old - all in favour of younger models and stars.

After years of planning and training she returned to enact her revenge, forming her own gang using male models that she had worked with over her career, helping to assist her in her numerous attacks on the corporations and their C.E.O's.

She suffered from body dsymorphic disorder, choosing to wear a mask to hide her face from the world, believing it to be flawed and worthy of judgement - despite retaining the looks she had from the days of her modelling career.

As a calling card, she would leave pages of a calendar at the crime scene, giving away clues to her identity by circling the dates she had been fired in red. These clues eventually lead to Batgirl and Batman uncovering the truth of her identity and her defeat. She was later taken into the custody of the G.C.P.D.

"Mean Seasons"

Choosing to target the Donna Days Fashion Spring Collection Fashion Show first

, Calendar Girl stormed the building with her henchmen and told the confused audiences that they must "beware the Ides of March," as she entered the auditorium.

Launching an attack at the main stage with smoke bomb Easter Eggs, she and her henchmen used the confusion to corner Donna Day and tie her up with a Easter Egg Snare Trap. Motioning for her gang to grab her, she sarcastically apologised for committing the crime, adding that they had "a date with destiny". Fleeing the scene, she pinned a ripped out page of a Calendar (for the month of March) on the curtains, dodging just in time to avoid being shot by security guards.

Changing her costume to an Independence Day inspired theme, Calendar Girl's next attack was the Gotham Motors Automobile Show and it's presentation on it's latest car The Solstice. Just as before, both herself and her gang members broke into the main gallery, bombarding the audience with fireworks produced from her top hat and causing them to scatter. Going after
Barkley James, Calendar Girl used part of her wrap round skirt to trip him up. As her victim fell of the stage and got tangled in the fabric, she grabbed the back of the current Miss Solstice, telling the pleading girl that she was "never too thin or young" to do anything (including dying).

Hearing Batman's demand to let the young girl go, Monroe conceded, remarking that she had no intention of hurting her since she was just a pawn in the industry to sell a product. She added that she did not need to worry with fighting him since she was distracting the caped vigilante long enough for her men to pick Barkley up and begin to carry him off towards the door.

However after Batman made an attempt to save Barkley, she was forced to attack him with more fire works jets from the fingertips of her gloves. She mockingly told him that she had not known anyone not to like fireworks, keeping him from making any more endeavours to rescue James and leaving him vulnerable to be run over by a stolen crane. Jumping onto the vehicle, she gloated that she would see him "In the Fall", hurling another page of the calendar at him as they sped off.

Returning to her base of operations in the abandoned nightclub Faces, Calendar Girl went to the office to plot her revenge on the final victim. In a moment of thought, she had removed her mask, becoming furious when one of her henchmen entered without knocking and almost got a glimpse. She shouted that he was an "idiot", hurling an Easter Egg explosive over his head and berating that no one was allowed to see her face, not even them. Moving over to address her hostages, she momentarily stopped to enjoy the wolf-whistles she got from her henchmen, musing that since it was a new season for revenge, she would have a new outfit for her spree of "trouble".

Interrupting the premier evening for G.W.B's "Look into the Future" Campaign, Calendar Girl used a large industrial fan to recreate an Autumn storm inside Studio 21, using the chaos to turn her attention onto the network executive Fredrick Fournier. Knocking his security guards out with a Pumpkin Bomb and leaving Fournier at her mercy, she advanced on him, coldly saying that "his show was cancelled." He attempted to pull a gun on her only for Monroe to remark that what he was using was a toy, adding that he was struggling to tell reality from television, before incapacitating him with a kick to the chest. Ordering for her henchmen to take him as well, she was unphased by the arrival of Batman and Batgirl, remarking that Halloween was not an uncommon time for costumes. Throwing one of her trick earrings at the two heroes, she took off in the smoke screen, managing to make it out of the building with a head-start.

Setting a trap for the heroes in the studio backlot, Calendar Girl tried to kill them with a remote controlled dinosaur, remarking that she knew from experience that people could not keep living in the past. She critiqued the hypocrisy and unfair bias of the movie industry, commenting on the fact that million year old Dinosaurs could still appeared in films, when actresses in their 30's were being turned away and told they could not do work unless they received surgery to make them look younger. Leaving them to fight the robot, she retreated back to Faces, leaving one final calendar for them.

Setting up a slide show of her career, Monroe prepared her final outfit as she explained to each one of her hostages that they (in her opinion) were responsible for destroying her life, causing the creation of the Calendar Girl persona. She went on to recount the various methods she had tried doing for ten year, in order to try to appear how they wanted her to look, yet still that was not enough for them.

Slicing through the presentation screen with a scythe, she told them that she was going to celebrate the Day of the Dead by executing them all. Intimidating them with two practice swings, Calendar Girl was about to murder Day when she was suddenly disarmed by a batarang. She quickly retrieved her weapon as her gang fought Batgirl and Batman, enraged by his interruptions and assaulted him with the blade. Seeing Batman trip over some debris, Monroe gloated that it was her lucky day, raising the tool above her ahead. However she watches in horror as the projector malfunctioned, burning her profile pictures before her very eyes, giving Batman time to recover and send her flying backwards. She was tied up by left for the G.C.P.D to arrest.

After Harvey Bullock ripped her mask off her face, arguing that she had no right to wear it, Monroe screamed in fear and attempted to hide her face from them all. Begging them not to look at her, she fell to her knees in tears, unable to see her own beauty, despite Batgirl's observation that she was "beautiful".
