The sixteen year old squire to Ser Perkin during the Targaryen's Dance of Dragons, Trystane was crowned by Perkin during the Riots of King's Landing, with the former telling all who would listen that he was the true born son of the deceased King Viserys Targaryen.He gained much support and soon had many knights at his command, all of the men and boys legitimised by Ser Perkins, chanting his name and declaring him to be the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.
Trystane managed to persuade the garrison protecting the Mud-Gate to join him, leading to more knights taking up his banner. The four officials that turned down his request for fealty were branded as traitors and executed on his orders.
