Before being recruited to the ranks of the Red Lantern Corps, Vice was happily married, until his wife was brutally murdered by one of the Sinestro Corps soldiers. Enraged and consumed with despair, Vice was deemed worthy of possessing a Red Lantern Ring, which stopped his heart and turned both bile and blood into napalm.He resided on the planet Ysmault, serving Atrocitus as the rightful leader to the Corps.
"Atrocitus Ending"
Upon feeling the collective rage of the billions of people lost in the destruction of Brainiac's ship and every single one of the collected cities, Vice and the other Red Lanterns turned on Atrocitus, branding him as a villain they needed to kill in their pursuit of justice. Hunting him down, Vice attempted to murder their former leader on the cliffs overlooking the blood oceans, however was stopped at the last minute from taking the final shot by Proselyte, who sent them all flying backwards.
Despite turning on Atrocitus, Vice swore loyalty to the Red Lantern Corps, going on to join the assembled factions of the Emotional Spectrum as one cohesive unit.
