Argella Durrandon - The World of Ice and Fire (2014)

The only daughter of Argilac of House Durrandon, Argella was told by her father that her dowry would by "the East of the Gods Eye from the Trident to the Blackwater Rush," and was offered as a potential bride to King Aegon Targaryen. However this proposal was rejected by the King, who was already married to two women.

After the death of her father in the Battle of the Last Storm, Princess Argella Durrandon sealed the gates of her ancestral castle of Storm's End as Lord Orys Baratheon and his legion marched towards them. Stating that she was now "The Storm Queen", she declared to Queen Rhaenys - who had flown in on the back of Meraxes to bargain - that none of her men would never bend the knee to the Targaryens. She went on to challenge Rhaenys, telling her that the only way they will get Storm's End is when it was nothing more than "bones and blood and ash."

However her men turned on her as means of a peaceful surrender, ambushing her when she was alone and stripping her of her power, rank and clothes. She was brought before Orys Baratheon in his camp, chained and gagged by her former soldiers, whilst the rest hoisted the peace banner from the walls of the castle.

Orys saw this as a vile and tasteless act, freeing her himself and wrapping the naked woman in his cloak. Together the two dined, where they eventually had a tranquil conversation. She listened as Orys recounted how brave and honourable King Argilac had in his last moments.

Eventually they were married and Princess Argella took on her husbands name as Lady Baratheon, in a manner similar to what he had done in taking the sigil and words of House Durrandon as his own.

Now living in her ancestral home as the Lady Baratheon of Storm's End, she was the mother of Davos and a second unnamed son.
