A former rat-catcher that was hired to work in the Red Keep, Cheese (as history would go on to know him as) and his partner Blood were hired by Mysaria (Daemon Targaryen's former "paramour") to avenge the death of Daemon's stepson Lucerys. He remembered all the different passage ways and tunnels that Maegor had built beneath his Holdfast, using them to sneak into the palace undetected.Taking Queen Helaena hostage, the two proceeded to hold her two boys hostage, demanding the terrified mother to choose which one of her children she wanted them to kill. Refusing to allow her to sacrifice themselves, she named her youngest son, only for the pair of killers to murder Prince Jaehaerys instead.
Leaving the distraught Helaena crying with her baby in her arms, the two assassins fled back through the tunnels.
